      "details": "Paul Merryman is a film & television producer with a focus on amazing true stories along with all things genre. He holds an MFA in Producing from the American Film Institute and a BS in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Texas at Austin. He started his career as an assistant to visionary film director Sam Raimi and quickly worked his way up the ladder. Following several years as Sam’s development executive, he branched out on his own as an independent producer, producing the critically acclaimed Afghanistan War film THE OUTPOST, based on the book by Jake Tapper and directed by Rod Lurie. He most recently produced DOWN THE ARM OF GOD for Luc Besson’s Europacorp starring Caleb Landry Jones, Mena Suvari, and Nick Stahl, and is recently wrapped ELASTIC HEARTS starring Cole Sprouse, Darby Lee-Stack, Stephen Dorff, and Dean Norris. Other recent films include Austin-shot comedy THE LONG SHOT starring Ryan Hansen and Adrianne Palicki, directed by Austin Nichols, and Austin-shot indie drama AMERICAN BABY, winner of the Austin Film Festival's Audience Award. He runs Austin-based production outfit Capitol Film Company, providing production services, development, and project consultation. ",
